What wonderful news! I’d sure like to see a picture of your fiance besides the one of the back of his head. I really enjoyed the stream of consciousness commentary–it was like reading your mind. Good luck to you both. Marv..

    1. Thanks Marv! Hopefully you’ll see his face live in person at the wedding, but I’ll email ya a full frontal to tide you over… 🙂

Love you guys. What an awesome story. I knew it would be 🙂 (btw – who are the 2 hot chicks posing with you early in this post??). ~ L

    1. They learned how to pose from the best…

I remember being in a daze like you described when James and I got engaged! You wrote it well! Very happy for you both. Bring your own chair, self financed weddings work out fine. We paid for ours ourselves and didn’t go into debt. People remember the feeling of the wedding, not the fanciness (people that matter, that is). It will be great!

    1. I believe that, just scary that even “non-fancy” seems to add up very very quickly. Maybe we’ll just live-stream the two of us and a reverend from our living room. Thanks for positive thoughts!

Great story! I’m glad I found your blog, as I randomly did. My hubby and I had a bring-your-own-chair potluck wedding. Well, nobody brought a chair, but it was definitely potluck, and we gathered at the lovely house of a friend, and another friend brought a guitar to provide the music. A friend made the cake. My dress came from a consignment shop. He bought a new shirt & tie to go with his jeans… shirt and tie still live in his closet today, 20 years later! We both liked it SO MUCH more than a fancy formal wedding!

    1. Potluck Wedding, that’s awesome Bonnie!! As is everything else you listed. Thank you so much for sharing; makes me hopeful we can do this in an economical yet amazing way. How many guests did you have?
